within walking distance from the big mall in town and a few good places to eat. Not much else though, joburg seems to be spread out. Place was really nice and felt like staying in someones home. Not much going on though and I didn't meet to many other people there.

I stay on an overnight Jo-berg pass through on the way to Kruger, this is a very cheap hostel a reasonable (not walking) distance away from OR Tambo airport. The place is very well keep, everything is luxury, clean, well maintained priced at hostel prices. A staff member tells me that it used to be the home of the guy that runs the joint. The pictures online don't do this place justice, actually alot nicer than what you see online. I had a ensuite with very nice bathroom for $50p.n.

Ghandi Backpackers was an excellent choice. We stayed in a 3 bed private suite which was very spacious. The bathroom however could have been better (light wasnt working and the door had no lock !) . Having said that, the staff especially Hans was very helpful and we booked all our tours of the city and meals using their help. I would recommend this place to anyone who is on a tight budget.

By far the best option in Johburg. I have stayed at the others. Though, from here you can safely walk to the east gate Mall where you can go to the defense store and buy PEPPER SPRAY if you plan to go anywhere else in johburg...The best option , NEW Clean, Helpful, But escape from Johburg quickly..

Don't look more, this is by far the best hostel in Johannesburgh. The property and the swimming pool are comfortable and beatiful!!!

Fantasic place, will stay again for sure.

We had a nice stay. One of the rooms was very good though one was not as good. the free pick up service and helping ourselves for breakfast was cool and had us very relaxed. The staff was friendly and efficient, especially Heinz.

Quite far from the airport. Nice rooms with high ceilings, great pool, nice dogs Lots of cameras which you can watch on the TV in the common room. Nice bar area.
