Reviews & Ratings jhilt25 from USA stayed here on 01st July 2010 great place overall. very secure, no heat in the 8 person dorm we stayed in nothing a couple jackets can't fix, and and most of all for South Africa
==> FREE WiFi <== | Male 31-40 | amatthes6198843 from Canada stayed here on 25th June 2010 Would probably be really fun in the summer. Was freezing at night in june, huts have glass doors and lots of windows. Advertised an 8-bed dorm, but was 12 bed with one shared bathroom. No guest kitchen and food was expensive. Overall defi not for budget travellers. | Mixed Group 18-24 | Raunak from India stayed here on 24th June 2010 The host is extremely kind and warm hearted. The hospitality was incredibly great!!!Will definitely visit it again! | Male 25-30 | philipk8478680 from USA stayed here on 24th June 2010 Enjoyed the rustic setting and breakfasts each morning. Unfortunately that was about it. The location was much too far from Joburg city center (25km outside). Had to rent a car to avoid crazy expensive shuttle fees to Joburg and surroundings for World Cup games. Shower was great, but was not fully enclosed and flooded the bathroom, leaving it gross for others. The bunk beds were from the 50s and can use a serious upgrade. And most importantly - NO HEAT! It was freezing at night. Space heater? | Male 25-30 | Badenser from South Africa stayed here on 23rd June 2010 Schönes Backpacker. Leider sehr weit von Johannesburg entfernt. | Male 31-40 | renatoeb939 from Brazil stayed here on 21st June 2010 some stuff they got to solve... no hot water in the cold morning and internet not very good... not so bad | Male 25-30 | lgbricks5500 from Brazil stayed here on 21st June 2010 This is the worst place in the world! The owner just care about money, he knows nothing about backpackers. The hostel is really far from the city, 60km, and since the public transportation in the city is not really good you have to pay for his shuttle that is 50 Euros each time! My last night there was no blanket in my bed and since is winter here I froze. The place is dirty, and bad organized. The only things that saves is the local staff always friendly! | Male 18-24 | alex_rip18114 from USA stayed here on 18th June 2010 DO NOT COME HERE. Its like a penitenciary. Far far far away from everything. NO HEAT in the rooms, its imposible to sleep, too cold. And they change the price every single day, so you can pay 220rand today and tomorrow 440 rand. Transfer to the stadium are 25euros! to the airport 50!!!! drunk or crazy? you decide | Male 25-30 | raroway from Brazil stayed here on 16th June 2010 This is a very nice place to relax if you have a car and want to stay in the hostel for a few days, but for those who would like to visit the City Center it is extremely inconvenient, it's 60km from the airport, and taxis are very expensive to get there. They don't have guest kitchen and you depend on them to eat, and during the world cup it was very expensive, but very good food. The dorms have around 22 beds and it gets cold at night during the winter time. | Couple 25-30 | wdeck98077 from USA stayed here on 16th June 2010 Where to even start - we chose to stay at this place during the opening rounds of the World Cup and were very disappointed. Not only did they raise their prices beyond a reasonable amount, their accommodations were severely lacking. It was clear that this place does not serve as a regular hostel. The staff was disorganized and quite frankly not willing to help. Maybe on less busy times of the year this place would be better but avoid at all costs during peak season. | Male 18-24 | | 1 | 2 | | | |
